Located on the second floor of the Princes Square shopping centre, The Restaurant Bar and Grill is a chic spot which appeals to everyone from shoppers to business lunchers via couples out for a romantic dinner. As well as a private dining area, there is seating on the terrace overlooking the atrium at Princes Square. Add in floor to ceiling windows, an open kitchen plus smartly turned out staff and it easy to see why this Buchanan Street restaurant is a popular destination.
Open for lunch and dinner, the menus at The Restaurant Bar and Grill include dishes from all corners of the world. From hickory smoked baby back ribs to king prawn tempura and Thai green curry, the kitchen is happy to go globe-trotting. What all the dishes have in common is that they are freshly prepared and made on the premises by the kitchen brigade.
The kitchen takes great pride in the dishes prepared in their char grill and wood-fired, stone oven. Free range pulled pork, crispy duck and the house burger are all big favourites. Steak lovers will appreciate the restaurant’s in-house butcher who ages the steaks for a minimum of 28 days, with some cuts dry aged on the bone for at least 35 days for tenderness and a fuller flavour. For a real treat, order the chateaubriand – 450g of prime steak cooked to order for two people. All the steaks come from Limousin, Hereford and Aberdeen Angus cattle which are reared naturally in the UK.
Desserts on offer include a dark choc fondant, sticky toffee pudding and baked New York cheesecake. For a decadent end to your meal, round it all off with a dessert cocktail like the Chocolate Sazerac – a mix of Diplomatico Reserva rum, chocolate liqueur and bitters with an absinthe-rinsed glass.
