Chic and modern Dragon I has rapidly built a reputation for serving some of the best Asian food not just in Glasgow, but in Scotland.
The menu features traditional Chinese favourites like Aromatic Crispy Duck and satay, but you’ll also find Thai and Malaysian dishes, as well as more Asian fusion type cuisine, like crispy pancakes filled with Stornoway black pudding. The chefs take pride in sourcing quality Scottish produce and using it to reinterpret classic Asian flavours. The food is always beautifully and meticulously presented, mirroring the attention to detail of the cooking.
The restaurant is smart and stylish inside, everything is sharp and neat. Red highlights compliment the minimal dark wood furniture, glossily polished floorboards and linen table clothes and napkins add a layer of luxury. There is a strong fine dining vibe. Their private dining area is equally tasteful and a good choice for birthdays or other events. Staff are efficient and attentive without being intrusive, but also friendly and informal.
Positioned opposite the Theatre Royal Dragon I draws a varied crowd. As well as diners seeking it out because of it’s reputation for excellent food it also hosts a pre and post theatre clientele (their pre theatre menu is excellent value) as well as performers from the the theatre grabbing a bite while they’re in the city.
