There’s a lot of big hitters in Glasgow’s Indian food scene but Dhabba has built up an almost cultish following over the years.

Located on the busy Candleriggs in the popular and trendy Merchant City just down the road from its sister restaurant Dhakin the chefs at Dabba serve up authentic North Indian cuisine.  The interior of the restaurant is tasetful and up market with heavy wood furniture and venetian blinds on the huge windows creating a little distance from the busy street outside.  A far cry from the roadside Dhabbas the restaurant is named after.  It’s perfect if you’re looking for a slightly posher curry experience, or if you’re wanting to impress someone.

The owners of the restaurant carefully recruited their chefs, some of whom have cooked for India’s rich and famous, and take a genuine pride in what they do.  The menu is extensive and features a lot of recognisable favourites, but each one is cooked with flair and consideration.  It’s popular with vegetarians who can choose from a wide range of interesting vegetable dishes, instead of the usual mixed veg kormas.

If you enjoy a wee tikka you’ll love their Tandoori selection which comes with a choice of sauces and includes some pretty irresistible mixed grill options including monkfish, salmon and prawns, as well as the usual chicken and lamb (also delicious).

The staff are friendly, enthusiastic and always on hand to offer suggestions or recommendations or tell you a bit about the food.

For delicious Indian food with a difference head along to Dhabba.
